Footnotes: Performing arts events refer to performances of folk, traditional, classical and contemporary forms of dance, music (e.g. classical, traditional music etc) and theatre. Entertainment events refer to large scale performances of contemporary music (e.g. pop/rock concerts). Ticketed performing arts and entertainment events may be held live or accessed digitally through electronic media or the Internet. Events such as book launches, competitions, conferences, masterclasses, workshops etc are excluded. Due to circuit breaker measures, there is a general decline in performing arts and entertainment events in year 2020 and 2021. Data on ticket sales refer to performances which require a ticket for entry. Data are provided by National Arts Council. National Arts Council compiled the data with returns from ticketing service providers. It exclude ticketed performances sold through other site-specific or independent ticketing service providers.
