Beta dataset
This is a new dataset; response fields, coverage start date, and behaviour may still change as we monitor reliability. Please reach out to feedback@data.gov.sg if you notice anything unexpected.
Real-time weather radar imagery from NEA. The weather radar transmits electromagnetic pulses that detect precipitation (rain, hail, snow) up to a few hundred kilometres away and estimates their intensity from the strength of the echoes. The data is updated every 5 minutes and covers a fixed range of 70 km, 240 km and 480 km, centred on Singapore.
The weather radar may occasionally pick up reflected signals from sources other than rain. These sometimes appear as stationary-coloured areas.
Each response includes geospatial metadata (projection + boundary box) and presigned PNG image URLs.
Rainfall intensity legend: the RGB/hex colour mapping for rainfall intensity is available in this dataset's API specification - download it from the "API Specification" section on this page to view the full legend table.
The data is updated every 5 to 15 minutes.
