STATECOURTS (Judiciary, State Courts)

Notes: (1) Data is accurate as at 31 December 2022. (2) Family and Juvenile cases are excluded from the State Courts caseload figures with effect from 2014. (3) Probate cases are excluded from the State Courts caseload figures with effect from 2015. (4) Applications for Protection Order / Non-Publication Order commenced on 15 Nov 2014. (5) Community Disputes Resolution Tribunals Claims commenced filing on 1 Oct 2015. (6) Employment Claims Tribunals Claims commenced filing on 1 Apr 2017.
(7) Small Claims Tribunals came under Community Justice and Tribunals Division in 2015. The Tribunals were part of the Civil Justice Division before 2015. (8) All Magistrate’s Complaints were counted under the Criminal Justice Division in 2011 to 2017. With effect from 2 January 2018, only Magistrate’s Complaints that are non-relational (e.g. copyright nature) are counted under the Criminal Justice Division while all other Magistrate’s Complaints are counted under the Community Justice and Tribunals Division (9) Criminal charges include DAC, MAC, PSS, PS & other charges. (10) Summons exclude O.25/37. (11) Beyond Parental Control and Child Protection Orders refers to the number of juveniles.
